Walking with Fingal of Caledonia
Our holidays offer wonderful walking options amongst the beautiful hills and glens along and near to the Caledonian Canal.
Walks are of a variety of grades and distances from easy ambles to moderate and longer hill walks.
The boat moves each day to a new location so you can stay on board, enjoy the cruise and then take a walk in a new area each day. Alternatively you can often walk the through route. Either way your accommodation moves with you - you don't even need to unpack, let alone carry your gear!

'Fingal' is the ideal base for this long distance, low level, coast
to coast walking route. On these weeks we concentrate on offering the
best walking opportunities for everyone. This means that we don't follow
our standard itinerary but plan the barge stops to suit the walking stages.
For non walkers this allows plenty of leisure time for exploring, and
some of our other activities will be available. For the coast to coast
walkers, daily distances are moderate, usually about ten to fourteen miles
with longer and shorter options.
